On May 1, 2026, at approximately 2:02 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a shooting that occurred in the area of Kiely Boulevard and Northlake Drive. An adult male victim was traveling in a vehicle when an adult male suspect pulled up in a separate vehicle, produced a firearm and shot at the victim. The victim vehicle was struck at least once, and fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. Responding Officers identified the suspect as Antonio Fernandez.

SJPD Patrol Officers located the suspect vehicle and when they attempted to conduct a vehicle enforcement stop, the suspect fled from Officers. SJPD Assaults Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation and obtained a search warrant for Suspect Fernandez’s associated residence.

On May 28, 2026, with the assistance of the SJPD Covert Response Unit, Gang Investigations Unit, Gun and Hazardous Offenders Suppression Team, Financial Crimes Unit, Sexual Assaults Investigation Unit, K-9 Unit, and Patrol Officers, Suspect Fernandez was apprehended in the city of San José. When Detectives arrested Suspect Fernandez, they located various narcotics, two loaded firearms, and ammunition on his person. During the execution of the search warrant, Detectives located firearm magazines, ammunition, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia.
