SJPD Investigating Traffic Fatality #23 of 2026

On June 22, 2026, at approximately 1:57 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle in the 1000 block of North Tenth Street. The preliminary investigation revealed the following: 

A beige 2001 Toyota Tundra pickup truck, occupied by an adult male driver, was traveling northbound on North Tenth Street, turning left into a business parking lot, when it was struck by a black 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, occupied by an adult male rider, traveling southbound on North Tenth Street.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital for major injuries, but was later stabilized. The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

On July 1, 2026, SJPD Traffic Investigations Unit Detectives were notified that the motorcyclist had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

This incident marks the city’s 23rd fatal collision and 23rd traffic-related death of 2026. 

The identity of the decedent will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
