On May 1, 2026, at approximately 11:36 AM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a residential burglary that occurred in the city of San José. Multiple suspects forced entry into the adult female victim's residence and stole thousands in cash, miscellaneous items, and the family’s dog, a French Bulldog named Lady.

Subsequently, on May 22, 2026, at approximately 3:06 PM, SJPD Patrol Officers responded to a report of a firearm discharge that occurred in the 100 block of Hillsdale Avenue. Although responding Officers did not locate any suspects or victims, they did locate several spent shell casings at the scene. With the assistance of the SJPD Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), Officers were able to identify possible associated vehicles to the crime. An adult male victim was eventually located uninjured and officers found multiple bullet strikes on the victim’s vehicle.

SJPD Burglary and Assaults Unit Detectives began a comprehensive investigation into both incidents and discovered that Suspect Christopher Jimenez was responsible for both crimes. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect.

On June 20, 2026, the Livermore Police Department located and apprehended Suspect Jimenez in the city of Livermore during a traffic stop. During the stop, Officers located the firearm associated to the May 22nd shooting that occurred in the city of San José. Suspect Jimenez was booked into Santa Rita County Jail for his outstanding arrest warrant. On June 22, 2026, SJPD Detectives took custody of Suspect Jimenez, who was subsequently extradited back to the city of San José and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for multiple crimes including assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.

At this time, the French Bulldog, Lady, has still not been located and remains outstanding. The San José Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating the victim's dog. Lady is described as a gray female French Bulldog with a visible pink scar under her chin.
