On April 25, 2026, at approximately 11:30 PM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a local hospital to investigate a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. During the investigation, Officers determined an adult male victim was violently attacked by a group of male suspects at his residence in the city of San José. One of the suspects struck the victim's face with the handle of a firearm, causing significant injuries. The preliminary investigation revealed the attack to be gang related.
SJPD Gang Investigations Unit (GIU) Detectives began an investigation and identified Stevenson Tuimavave as the primary suspect. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Suspect Tuimavave and a search warrant for his associated residence.
On July 15, 2026, with the assistance of the SJPD Covert Response Unit, Detectives located and arrested Suspect Tuimavave in the city of San José. During the execution of the search warrant, Detectives located two firearms, multiple rounds of ammunition, gang indicia, and various illegal fireworks.

Suspect Tuimavave was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for gang-related assault with a deadly weapon.
