On July 15, 2026, between approximately 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, the San José Police Department received two separate reports for assault with a deadly weapon that occurred in the city of San José: one incident reported in the area of South King Road and Ocala Avenue, and the other incident reported in the area of Lundy Avenue and Hostetter Road. In both cases, the victims were struck with a semi-automatic paintball gun from a moving vehicle. The victims sustained varying non-life threatening injuries. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.

During the preliminary investigation, SJPD Patrol Officers discovered that the suspects were also responsible for an incident that occurred in the city of Milpitas after Milpitas Police Department received a report of an assault with a deadly weapon involving a paintball gun. With the assistance of the SJPD Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), Patrol Officers located the suspect vehicle in the city of Milpitas on the same day the crimes occurred.

Officers identified the suspect driver as 37-year-old Alfonso Garcia and the suspect shooter, a 16-year-old juvenile male. At the time of the vehicle stop, the suspects were found to be in possession of a paintball gun and paintballs.

Suspect Garcia was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The juvenile suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon.
