On August 25, 2026, at approximately 10:29 AM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision in the area of Hillsdale Avenue and Narvaez Avenue. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
A white 2018 Isuzu box truck, occupied by an adult male driver and an adult male passenger, was traveling westbound on Hillsdale Avenue passing through the intersection with Narvaez Avenue when it struck a white 2022 Ford F550 bucket truck parked along the north curb of Hillsdale Avenue, occupied by an adult male in the extended bucket.
The bucket operator was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
This incident marks the city’s 30th fatal collision and 30th traffic-related death of 2026.
The identity of the decedent will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
