On August 17, 2026, at approximately 4:57 AM, San José Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a vandalism report of a business located in the 3100 block of Senter Road. The preliminary investigation revealed an adult male suspect threw a brick at the front door of the business, causing thousands worth in damages. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

SJPD Burglary Unit Detectives began an investigation and identified the suspect as Jonny Miles. During the investigation, Detectives also discovered evidence linking Suspect Miles to an attempted burglary of a business that occurred on August 18, 2026 in the 1600 block of East Capitol Expressway. In this incident, Suspect Miles threw a rock and kicked down the front door. He fled the scene shortly after.

Suspect Miles has also been previously arrested by SJPD Burglary Unit Detectives on July 14, 2026 for three commercial burglaries he committed the month prior. When he was located and arrested, Suspect Miles was in the process of committing a fourth burglary.

On August 20, 2026, Patrol Officers located and arrested Suspect Miles in the city of San José. The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for burglary.

Suspect Jonny Miles is currently in custody, and has previously been charged by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office with fifteen commercial burglaries that occurred in the city of San José in 2020, which he served approximately two years in Santa Clara County Main Jail for before being released in early 2023. He was subsequently charged with twenty-one commercial burglaries that occurred in the city of San José in 2023, upon release, and released again from Santa Clara County Main Jail in May 2026.
