On November 3, 2021, at approximately 5:36 AM, Officers responded to the area of North 10th Street and Commercial Street to investigate a two vehicle collision involving a 2013 Peterbilt garbage truck and a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed the following:
The motorcycle was traveling northbound on North 10th Street as the truck was exiting a business yard on the west side of North 10th Street. The truck was making a left hand turn onto southbound North 10th Street when the the motorcycle struck the driver's side of the truck.
The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This is the 49th fatal collision and the 50th victim of 2021.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify next of kin.
