San Jose: On Sunday, January 31, 2016, at approximately 12:51 p.m., San Jose Police Officers responded to the area of Clemence Ave. and Walnut Woods Dr. on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived on scene and discovered two shooting victims. San Jose Fire Department personnel pronounced Victim Martinez deceased at the scene.
A preliminary investigation by the SJPD Homicide Unit revealed that Victim #1 (Martinez) was
walking with friends on Clemence Ave. near Walnut Woods Dr. A dark colored vehicle drove by the group and a passenger fired multiple times at them. Victim Martinez was shot and fell to the ground. A 33 year-old female (Victim #2) was also shot by a stray round while she was inside a residence. The female victim received a non-life threatening injury. Both victims were shot at least once. The suspects fled the scene and have not been identified or apprehended.
