SJPD has arrested Suspect for Indecent Exposure/Annoying or Molesting Children

San Jose: The San Jose Police Department's Sexual Assaults Investigations Unit (SAIU) arrested John Ha for 32 counts of lewd acts (P.C. 647a) , indecent exposure (P.C. 314), and annoying/molesting a child (P.C. 647.6).

Preliminary Investigation revealed that in January 2016, SAIU detectives discovered a connection between a series of indecent exposure cases involving a gray Honda Accord.  The driver was frequenting schools in San Jose including Foothill, Overfelt and Independence High Schools.  He would wait for juvenile females walking alone to school in the morning.  The suspect would make eye contact with the female victims while masturbating and exposing himself.  In total, detectives were able to identify 14 separate incidents involving the suspect.  The victims were all between the ages of 14 and 17 years-old.

The suspect John Ha was identified after extensive follow up investigation and interviews.  It was determined the suspect lives in the area of the incidents.

SAIU detectives obtained a $500,000 arrest warrant for 32 counts of lewd acts, indecent exposure, and annoying/molesting a child.

On February 2, 2016,  Suspect Ha was located and arrested at his work in the City of Milpitas by SAIU detectives.  The suspect was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
