Homicide Investigation 3-8-16: 80 Montecito Vista Dr.

San Jose: On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 4:32 AM, San Jose Police officers responded to an apartment complex at 80 Montecito Vista Dr. on a report of a possible dead body. The adult male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Patrol officers determined the death was suspicious. The SJPD Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.  

On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy on the victim and concluded that he died as a result of blunt force trauma. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for suspect Joshua Mendoza.  

On Thursday, March 10, 2016, SJPD Covert Response Unit (CRU) officers arrested suspect Mendoza at his San Jose residence. Suspect Mendoza was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for murder.
