Fireworks Safety & Enforcement Community Event

Santa Clara County Fire Department and Sheriff's Office, San Jose Fire and San Jose Police Department, as well as Santa Clara Valley Medical Center host a community event encouraging residents to enjoy Independence Day safely.

WHAT:

Learn the possible consequences of using illegal fireworks.

Vasona Lake County Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd., Los Gatos (Playground Parking Lot)

WHY:

This community event will call attention to the risks of using illegal fireworks. Independence Day celebrations result in nearly 10,000 people crowding our emergency rooms with fireworks-related injuries nationwide at a cost of more than $100 million annually. Despite the dangers of fireworks, few people understand the associated risks, which include devastating burns, injuries, fires, and even death.

Hospitals, fire departments, and law enforcement agencies encourage residents to celebrate safely by attending an outdoor public displays conducted by trained professionals throughout Santa Clara County.

Please join us at this event to hear more about the risks of using illegal fireworks.
