SJPD is investigating an Officer Involved Shooting that occurred on 7-4-16

San Jose, Calif. - On Monday, July 4, 2016, at 4:51 p.m., San Jose Police officers responded to the 900 block of Feller Avenue on a report of a male with a gun attempting suicide inside a residence. Upon arrival officers observed a male exit the residence with visible injuries and armed with a handgun. An officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit arrived on scene and took over the investigation.  

The officer's will be placed on routine paid administrative leave. The San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit is conducting the criminal investigation. The case is being monitored by the San Jose Police Department's Internal Affairs Unit, the Office of the Independent Police Auditor for the City of San Jose, and the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.
