**Update** Suspect Arrested in Connection with July 24, 2016 Homicide

VICTIM: Eric Christopher Hampton AGE: 22 Years
ADDRESS: Oakland Resident
 
SUSPECT: Luis Alfredo Sandoval
AGE: 20 Years
ADDRESS: San Jose Resident
 
Suspect: Sandoval

*Update (September 22, 2016)*

After follow-up investigation by Homicide Detective Raul Corral, Detective Todd Jennings and Detective Sergeant Bert Milliken, San Jose Police identified and arrested Suspect Luis Sandoval in connection with the above listed homicide. Sandoval was arrested on Friday, September 16, 2016, in Los Altos, California. Sandoval was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for murder and sexual assault.  The sexual assault occurred on a second victim (adult female) prior to the commission of the homicide. No additional details will be provided about the investigation.

San Jose : On Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 1:46 AM, San Jose Police officers responded to the area of S. 2nd St. and Martha St. on a report of a person stabbed. Officers arrived and discovered the victim suffering from at least one stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No suspects have been identified at this time.
