San Jose: On Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 8:42 PM, San Jose Police Officers were dispatched to Regional Medical Center on a report of a person shot. Arriving officers were informed Victim Salas was pronounced deceased. After follow-up investigation, the crime scene was located at Dove Hill Park (Ravens Place Way and Muir Place).

A preliminary investigation revealed both victims were seated in a parked vehicle. The suspects approached both victims and attempted to rob them. One of the suspects assaulted Victim #2, who is an adult male, and the other suspect shot Victim Salas. Victim #2 suffered non-life threatening injuries. Both suspects fled the scene and have not been identified or apprehended.

Both suspects are described only as males - unknown age or race.

This is the City's 39th homicide of 2016.
