Homicide Investigation: 4-18-16 Assault Victim Dies 11-10-16

Suspect James Siordia

San Jose: On April 18, 2016, the victim disclosed to an acquaintance that he was assaulted and provided minimal information. The location of the assault is unknown at this time.

On April 19, 2016, the victim was in the 600 block of South 9th St. when due to the victim's worsening condition, the victim was admitted at a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The victim was expected to survive and was placed in the ICU for observation.

Follow up investigation by detectives in the San Jose PD Assaults Unit identified Suspect Siordia as the person that assaulted the victim. Siordia was arrested on 4-21-16 and was booked for attempted murder.

On 11-10-16, the victim was pronounced deceased and the case was turned over to Homicide detectives

This is the City's 43rd homicide of 2016.
