SJPD Arrests Three Serial Robbery Suspects - Looking For More Victims

San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose Police Department's Robbery Unit has been investigating a series of at least nine (9) purse snatch style robberies which have occurred between November 2016 through January 2017. The robberies involved Asian females being targeted at shopping centers.

The suspects approached the victims as they were walking through parking lots. The suspects drove up next to the victims, grabbed onto their purses, and fled the area. On several occasions, the victims were dragged and/or struck by the suspects' vehicles.

On 1-19-17, officers from the San Jose Police Department's Covert Response Unit (CRU) arrested Anthony Macias in the area of S. Almaden Blvd. and Balbach St. in San Jose.

On 1-31-17, CRU officers arrested Santos Thompson and Carissa Martinez in the area of Fontaine Rd. and Flanigan Dr. in San Jose. The suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for multiple counts of robbery.

The case is still on-going and actively being investigated. We are asking for the public's assistance in identifying additional victims of these robberies who may have not reported their robbery to police.
