San Jose: On Sunday, July 09, 2017 at approximately 9:53 AM, officers responded to the 700 block of S. 2nd Street on a report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival, officer's located an adult male victim suffering from a least one stab wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The San Jose Police Department Homicide Unit arrived on scene and took over the investigation. Follow-up investigation determined the suspect Gerkin was responsible for the homicide. On Sunday, July 09, 2017, the suspect was located near a residence in San Jose and arrested without incident. The suspect was booked into the County Jail for homicide.
Preliminary information revealed a verbal argument preceded the stabbing. The victim and the suspect were know to each other. The motive and circumstances surrounding the stabbing are under investigation.
