SJPD arrest suspect for sending harmful matter to a minor

Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Officer was conducting online chat as a male juvenile.  He responded to a social media add the suspect posted, regarding an adult male wanting to meet a “younger male”.  The officer, posing as the juvenile male online, had several conversations with the suspect (Gerald McGuire).  The suspect McGuire made several incriminating statements online directed at the male juvenile.  In addition, the suspect sent harmful matter to the online account of the male juvenile (Officer).

On Wednesday February 10, 2016, the suspect McGuire made arrangements to meet the male juvenile (Officer) in Commodore Park.  Sexual Assault Investigations Unit (SAIU) Officers conducted surveillance on the park and made a stop on suspect McGuire and detained him.   

The suspect was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail for sending harmful matter to a minor and Contacting a minor with the intent to commit a Felony
