San Jose: On Sunday, February 14, 2016, at approximately 3:45 a.m., San Jose Police Officers responded to the alley behind an apartment complex in the 5600 block of Via Monte Dr. on a report of a single vehicle collision into a pole. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the driver, later identified as victim Boice, had been shot. San Jose Fire Department personnel pronounced victim Boice deceased at the scene.

A preliminary investigation by the SJPD Homicide Unit revealed the victim was shot at least once. The unknown suspect(s) fled the scene and have not been identified or apprehended.
