Update: 7-6-17

After extensive follow-up by homicide detectives, The San Jose Police Department has identified and arrested five suspects responsible for the death of Cruz Antonio Castro.  Suspect #1 (Tellez) and Suspect #2 (juvenile) were arrested in San Jose on January 19, 2017.  Suspect #3 (juvenile) was arrested in San Jose on June 6, 2017.  Suspect #4 (juvenile) was arrested in San Jose on June 13, 2017.  Suspect #5 (Barragan-Sandoval) was arrested in San Jose on July 3, 2017. The two adults were booked into  the County Jail and the three juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall.

San Jose: On Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 6:50 PM, San Jose Police officers responded the 10000 block of Lyndale Ave. on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.  

Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was walking on Lyndale Ave. The suspect vehicle stopped and male suspects exited and shot the victim. The suspects ran back to the vehicle and fled the area. The suspects or vehicle have not been identified.
