SJPD Arrests Suspect for Arranging to meet a Minor for Lewd Purposes & other Crimes

San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force / Child Exploitation Detail (CED) arrested suspect Roman Guillen for arranging to meet a minor for lewd purposes (felony) 288.4(a)(1) PC, meeting with a minor to commit a lewd act (felony) 288.4(b) PC, sending harmful matter to a minor (felony) 288.2(a)(2) PC, and possession of child pornography (felony)  311.11(a) PC.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, the victim's mother contacted the San Jose Police Department regarding her 12 year old child chatting online with an adult male regarding discussions of a sexual nature. ICAC detectives immediately got involved, assumed the identity of the victim, and continued communicating with suspect Guillen over the next five days. Guillen eventually arranged to meet with who he thought was the victim for sexual purposes.

On July 29, 2019, Guillen agreed to meet at an undisclosed location in the City of San Jose. At approximately 3:00 PM, Guillen arrived at the prearranged location and was taken into custody. During the follow-up investigation, detectives served several search warrants on Guillen's mobile applications and his residence. Guillen was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Jail on the above listed charges.
