San Jose, Calif.   During COVID-19 the San Jose Police Department is functional and remains committed to providing emergency and essential services to the community. In an effort to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, visitors to the Police Department’s Main Lobby are required to wear face coverings/masks.

The Department is still processing paperwork for registrations, pre-booking, warrants, and is scheduling appointments for all fingerprinting.

Sex registrants must report in person to register.  Phone registration is no longer an option.

REGISTRATIONS: 290 registration hours and compliance expectations have resumed.

Registration hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.

The District Attorney’s Office in conjunction with the San Jose Police Department’s 290 Team has issued a grace period for registrants to comply with registration requirements that expires on September 8th, 2020.

After September 8th, 2020, the San Jose Police Department will resume regular enforcement for sex registrants that fail to register.
